SouthCreek at Myrtle Beach National - #10 - Hole Spotlight from Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday

MYRTLE BEACH GOLF HOLE OF THE WEEK: NO. 10 AT SOUTHCREEKMyrtle Beach National, home of three Arnold Palmer-designed courses, is one of the Grand Strand’s signature facilities. All three layouts – King’s North, SouthCreek and West Course – are 4+ star designs, according to Golf Digest, but playability is an essential component of each.the 10th at Myrtle Beach National's Southcreek is the course's bestThe SouthCreek course, in particular, offers golfers a chance to score. The layout plays just over 6,400 yards from the tips, has ample landing room, and is always in outstanding condition. But that doesn’t mean the course is a pushover, particularly when you are talking about this week’s Myrtle Beach Golf Hole of the Week – No. 10 at SouthCreek.No. 10 Par: 5 Yardage: 532 yards (blue tee), 525 yards (white tees) Handicap: 1The course’s signature hole, No. 10 is a 90-degree dogleg right that plays around a large lake and provides players decisions on nearly every shot. The hole is SouthCreek’s hardest, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t opportunity to score. On the tee, everyone makes a choice: the green is potentially reachable in two, but players have to be willing to challenge the water.Strike a bold drive up the right side and you could have as little as 225 yards left to the green. It’s a long shot but possible. Given the size of the fairway, there is no reason not to crack the driver, just don’t push it into the water.Players that want to play conservatively can skirt the water, but the landing area for the second shot is tight, which is all the more reason to take a shot at the green, if possible. On the green, try to leave yourself below the hole, leaving an uphill putt for a red number. The 10th hole at SouthCreek is the course’s best and most memorable challenge. The recommendation here it to play the hole boldly, if your drive allows.
