In between are holes inspired Pinehurst No. 2, TPC Sawgrass (yes, it’s No. 17), Colonial, English Turn, Pine Valley, Augusta National and the National Golf Club of Canada. The Championship 9 features holes inspired by the game’s major championships, highlighted by a recreation of Amen Corner. Other courses with featured holes include Winged Foot, Cypress Point, Royal Troon, Olympic, Oakmont and Bay Hill. Hard to argue with that lineup. The holes at World Tour provide the feel of playing the game’s legendary courses but what you are wondering is, what is the experience like? The answer is, it’s very cool. The passport players receive upon entering the gate sets the tone for a day of Myrtle Beach golf that is as enjoyable as it different. It’s fun to read the plaques on each tee box and imagine yourself trying to conquer some of the game’s most famous challenges. Everyone wants to know what the “best” hole(s) is at World Tour are and that’s a difficult question to answer. The postage stamp at Royal Troon, 18 at St. Andrews, 17 at TPC Sawgrass are all great, but my money is on Amen Corner. Augusta National sits atop more bucket lists than any course and the opportunity to imagine yourself trying to avoid Justin Spieth’s fate on No. 12 or trying to clear Rae’s Creek on the approach to the 13th green at Augusta, immediately makes World Tour time well spent. World Tour has a nearly perfect location, just west of Intracoastal Waterway in Myrtle Beach, and is in very close proximity to the airport. The course can be played as part of Founders Group International’s Spring Rewards Package, making it a no-brainer.
